The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) provides all of Northern Ireland, an area of over 5,500 square miles and a population of 1.88 million, with fire and rescue services.

PM POWER was awarded the contract to supply, install and commission a new diesel generator for Kilkeel Fire Station, to provide extra resilience to the service during a failure to the main electricity network.

The selected generator was a Cummins C66D5e with a standby rating of 66kVA, supplied with a Cummins GTEC 100Amp ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) and 1,200Litre Bunded Plastic Bulk Fuel Tank – designed to run the generator on full load for over 72 hours.

All equipment was offloaded and positioned on site by PM POWER, with the interconnecting pipe work also fitted by the in-house installation team. The complete project was carried out on site in only one day.
